Bankers bonus debate.

The Royal Bank of Scotland plc Banca Rìoghail ...Image via Wikipedia

The Royal Bank of Scotland board of directors are threatening to quit if they are not allowed to set their ridiculous bonuses, as they are under the illusion that they have been successful enough to earn millions of pounds over and above the high wages they already earn.
I doubt very much if the taxpayers will agree with them, because as we all know they still owe us billions of pounds, and until that is paid back in full they cannot claim success.

If anyone is entitled to bonuses this year it's the taxpayers of whom without THEM the banks would not exist.

Let the board of directors quit, and forfeit their ludicrous pensions plus any bonus they might be entitled to, and see if they will continue with their threat, because there are plenty people out there who have been sacked from the banking world this year who are just as, or even more capable of running the banking system, and would be only too eager to take the jobs vacated by these chancers, possibly for less money too.

If the treasury allow themselves to be conned by the directors then they are only confirming how useless this government has become, and they should end up in the scrapheap along with the bank directors who's greed and incapability's led to this recession.

If bonuses must be paid ever again they should be within a sensible limit, and not be allowed to rise to the extortionate levels of the past.

The most useless bunch of MP'S.

The time is fast approaching for the MOST useless bunch of MP's, who are expecting us to vote for them in the oncoming European elections (or jokers wild) and who do nothing but grant other countries THEIR wishes while ignoring the wishes of the people they expect to put them in this cushy job they desire, with its outrageous pay and expenses system.
These are the people who bring our fishing industry to its knees every year when quotas and conservation matters are brought up while allowing other countries to plunder our stocks and extend their fishing fleets while ours are being forcibly decommissioned by this useless European Union.
Everywhere you go in the Mediterranean coast there is an abundance of small fishing boats that go out and catch very little now because they have overfished their grounds long ago but nothing is done to cut that fleet down or anything done about building up stocks there again. Our fishermen are the targets every time and are sold down the river every year by these clowns that are about to canvas for your votes. Not only the fishing suffers but many other British industries are suffering because Britain has NO voice in this useless union that was supposed to help all members to prosper but has turned into a farce with only the bullying countries gaining from it.
So beware when "Jokers Wild" suggests they are the person for the job and check up on what they really do to earn their ridiculous wages because it certainly is NOT to the benefit of this country so why vote for them at all as its the other nations they help that they should be looking for votes.
If you think the idiots that are running the country are bad you should check out this lot.
idiots that are running the country you should chech out this lot.

Its time to give fresh blood a chance

Photo of a cloud illuminated by sunlight.Image via Wikipedia

Wouldn't it be great if we could all dictate how much wages and expenses we think we are entitled to? Well it might be great for us, but think how much harm it would do our already crumbled economy so is it not time that our MP's thought the same way and stopped fleecing us of money donated in taxes to help the economy and NOT to line their pockets.
Gordon Brown is rapidly running out of straws to grasp as he struggles to recover from the abundant errors of judgement he has committed since taking over as Prime Minister.
This desperate move to change the MP's perks and wage system would never have arisen had the guilty parties who took advantage of their position to fleece us never come to light.
Long gone is the time when these crooks decide their wages and perks and the time has come to take it right out of their hands and pass it over to an independent source that the government have no hold over and will assess the situation honestly.
As long as these unashamed, so called politicians have anything to do with any set up concerning THEM they will always take advantage of the situation by putting themselves first and their country and voters last. The exact opposite of what they were elected for in the first place.
Labour are desperately trying to dig themselves out of a hole in time for the looming elections but as far as I am concerned they do not have enough shovels nor do I think that the Tories should take it for granted that they are next in line, due to Gordon Browns failures as they are no better. Its time to give fresh blood a chance as in this time of political disasters they can do no worse.

"If it aint broke don't fix it"

B.A.A. Are being forced to make a choice of which airport to sell between Glasgow or Edinburgh because they are monopolizing the market. Most customers questioned feel no need for this as B.A.A. are running these airports without fleecing their customers and any new buyer coming on the scene could be inexperienced and let the efficiently run business go to the dogs causing concern for regular users. In other words "if it aint broke don't bother to fix it." Its a case of interference where it is not needed. On the other hand we have the power companies ripping us off at every cut and turn ignoring the competitive market that their existence was supposed to create.
The regulator and government should be looking at them instead of interfering in a firm that has only the public's interest in mind and unless they begin to take advantage of their position should be left alone to generate the much needed business and jobs they generate for the country during these difficult times.
These government officials, if doing the job they are highly paid for would see the benefits B.A.A. are providing and let them be, then attend to the more urgent task of regulating the power companies. In saying that, the government reaps the benefits thanks to V.A.T. of every penny we are over charged in our power bills which makes it less likely that they will do anything about it.
The sale of the airports is just to make it look as if they are earning their salt but "you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time" and all their con tricks and errors will come home to roost at the next election.

Taliban

Aerial view of Guantanamo Bay, collected from ...Image via Wikipedia

I have written in this blog before of the dangerous results the goody goody brigade achieve when instigating sympathy for terrorist and criminals and through them pardons and rewards have frequently been the outcome. It beats me why anyone would listen to this minority especially NOW when we see the results of these stupid decisions. Thanks to these headcases a number of the freed inmates of Guantanamo Bay are back fighting alongside the Taliban killing our soldiers with one in particular an expert in bomb making.
These men were put in that prison for good reason and deserved everything they got and all the shouting for their release by sympathisers will only lead to more of our troops being slaughtered thanks to them. I wonder how they felt when they heard the news that the main bomb maker for the Taliban was back doing the very things that rightly put him in Guantanamo Bay and how they will feel when the next slaughter of our troops is reported. SHAME AND REGRET should be the answer because it is thanks to them that many more of our soldiers will be killed and women and children raped and murdered at home and abroad before criminals,Al-Queda,the Taliban and the goody goody brigade are stopped. There are 250 men left in Guantanamo Bay; do they still want to release them to reinforce the Taliban and Al-Queda or have they now seen the error of their ways?

Could this explain the countries problems?

XUZHOU, CHINA - FEBRUARY 9: A pet cat plays w...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

The Four Cats

Four men were bragging about how smart their cats were.

The first man was an Engineer,
The second man was an Accountant,
The third man was a Chemist, and
The fourth man was a Government Employee.

To show off, the Engineer called his cat, 'T-square, do your stuff.'

T-square pranced over to the desk, took out some paper and pen and promptly drew a circle, a square, and a triangle.

Everyone agreed that was pretty smart.

But the Accountant said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said,
'Spreadsheet, do your stuff.'

Spreadsheet went out to the kitchen and returned with a dozen cookies. He divided them into 4 equal piles of 3 cookies.

Everyone agreed that was good.

But the Chemist said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said, 'Measure, do your stuff.'

Measure got up, walked to the fridge, took out a quart of milk, got a 10 ounce glass from the cupboard and poured exactly 8 ounces into the glass without spilling a drop.

Everyone agreed that was pretty good.

Then the three men turned to the Government Employee and said, 'What can your cat do?'

The Government Employee called his cat and said, 'CoffeeBreak, do your stuff.'

CoffeeBreak jumped to his feet.......

Ate the cookies........

Drank the milk.......

S**t on the paper.......

Screwed the other three cats.......

Claimed he injured his back while doing so........

Filed a grievance report for unsafe working conditions.......

Put in for Workers Compensation................and

Went home for the rest of the day on sick leave............

AND THAT, MY FRIEND IS WHY EVERYONE WANT'S TO WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT!!

lottery money and wastage

«Deep Sea Delta», boreplattform, her i NordsjøenImage via Wikipedia

So Scotland has to suffer at the hands of the English again; this time taking away our heritage money to fund their Olympic games. The excuse of the lottery takings being reduced because of the credit crunch is a feeble attempt at hiding the real truth.
England have been too ambitious from the start and as France breathes a sigh of relief after losing the games the so called victors are left struggling to raise the finance to fund this burden. They wanted the games so let the funding come from their resources alone, as should Scotland pay for their coming Commonwealth Games which will most likely be the case anyway. The English politicians are so sure Scotland cannot stand on their own two feet but they have to depend on our money when they get into financial difficulties and prove they cannot or do not wish to stand alone so is this the reason we are being refused a vote on the referendum. With the cost settlements in contracts never being adhered to these days the final expenditure always escalates by ridiculous amounts by the time the building projects are finished so whatever happened to penalty clauses and fixed prices. The way contracts are dealt with nowadays leaves plenty room for outside contractors to skim extra money and no questions asked. Money is handed out all too readily now by companies and government. Jane Moore in her program on government money wastage proved just how much better off by billions this country (Britain) SHOULD be if it were not for them dishing out money hand over fist for worthless causes. The main worthless causes being the government who like too feather their own nest first then squander our money elsewhere.
The so called financial gains from the Olympics will be in and around London with none coming to Scotland so why should our heritage suffer?

teaching

A teacher writing on a blackboard.Image via Wikipedia

This idea that you can train someone to teach in six months sounds far fetched to me.
In the first place they are always complaining about teachers already in jobs being under trained after spending years in college trying to get acceptable grades so what makes them think that a six month course will achieve more than full college training.
Having relations and friends in teaching and others qualified who cannot get a posting it appears there are already too many teachers for too few posts so why go down this road at all as each year fully qualified students leave college will little or no chance of starting a career in the profession they have trained long and hard for.
Is this just another plan to shuffle the unemployment figures to suit?

referendum for Scotland.

Lion Rampant -- Royal standard of Scotland, wi...Image via Wikipedia

The only reason I can think of for denying the Scottish public a referendum on independence is the fact that the parties preventing it are running scared.
Excuses like "its the wrong time because of the credit crunch" does not wash as that has and never will have any bearing on the outcome. I will give it serious thought if and when we get the chance to vote on it but it should be up to the Scottish people to decide and not feckless politicians from parties who have no claim on Scotland and do not even have a foothold where constituency's in Scotland are concerned.
Are they afraid they will lose the revenue from our oil? OIL that has kept this so called Great Britain afloat during other times of crisis including this one.
If England thinks that they carry Scotland then this is their chance to be free of us so enough of the nonsense and get the referendum up and running, then we might see if England can stand on it's own two feet.

government policies

First the government wanted us to stop smoking, then they wanted us to stop using our cars, then they decided to stop us drinking and their usual solution of putting up the prices came into action, now with six pubs a day closing, and the car industry in dire straights they have realised just how much revenue they gain through these so called unnecessary vices of ours. The job losses in this country, and capital loss for the government would be tremendous if the nation decided to give up all these things at once.
Having now realised how tragic it would be they are now pouring money into the car trade so, it is only a matter of time until they go back on their word again, and allow cheap drink to save the British pub, although I don't think the smokers have a chance as we all know the revenue they bring in. Remembering the old saying on the capstan packet "let capstan take the strain" I fear the stress we are going through now, might have us all looking for something to relieve the strain in the not too distant future, swelling their coffers either way.
This bad spell of weather has shown how much has to be done before we can rely on public transport.

solve a problem........cash for the coffers.

Once again the majority are going to suffer, thanks to the mindless minority because the only answer our politicians can come up with when a problem arises is, hike more money on to it, making sure they benefit out of it rather than solve the matter.
Everything from global warming to the yob culture on our streets is taken care of by increasing prices on fuel (which bumps up the cost of everything else) to tobacco and drink. Who do they think they are kidding, and if they are so naive as to think our culture is going to change by hiking up prices then their position in government should be looked at. The drink problems of our youths who stand on street corners is nothing new but it is getting worse, it is thanks to E.U. rules that makes their parents afraid to punish them in any way for fear of reprisals. Ever since the E.U. stepped in with their ridiculous ruling on punishments we have become an almost lawless society with criminals and crimes running rings round the courts, as at every cut and turn they have a law to protect THEM instead of the law protecting the victims and the peace loving citizen of this country who, are in the majority.

the ongoing bank bonus debate

While watching a debate on T.V. last night between two bank representatives, John Prescott and a businessman I agreed wholeheartedly with Mr Prescott, then, on listening to his continuing statements I began to wonder if it was him agreeing with me and taking his points from my blog. He put over to the bank reps almost everything I said going as far as to say "let them sue they have no contract now."
The bank reps only two points were that they had a contract (let them fight that in court with their own money)and that while admitting to over lending accused the public for over stretching their budgets by over borrowing but he did not have the brains to notice the flaw in his statement and sadly it was not picked up by anyone.
The flaw being; it was the banks greed that allowed the borrowers to overstretch their budget and if they had been doing their jobs properly the public could afford the loans taken out hence the credit crunch they caused would not exist so both his points have been shot down in flames. We have to bring up the vulgar sums paid out in bonuses over the supposed boom years which have proved to be undeserved, and as some of these payments were more than the normal worker could make in two lifetimes the highly paid bosses still have assets that should be seized NOW it has been proved that they were not earned. We as the main shareholders should be listened to and the government should put their foot firmly down and say NO to all bonuses from the bottom up until our money is paid back in full. Does the banks think the money was donated to give them a life of luxury while the rest of the country flounders,if so dream on.
The only problem I can find in letting the matter go to court is that it brings in a justice system who at the moment seem to find it hard distinguishing right from wrong and do not punish crimes fittingly.

foreign labour

The ongoing dispute about foreign workers taking jobs from the British is another example of the flaws occurring in the E.U. Our politicians are quick to condemn our workforce for their reaction to workers from abroad coming over here and carrying out tasks well within the capabilities of our labour force and in these times of uncertainty instead of looking after their own countrymen they are acting against them. It is in situations like this that the politicians should remember who put them into their jobs in the first place and it is the general public of THIS country that can vote them out NOT the imported workforce that the dispute is all about.
Maybe if we imported some decent politicians from abroad to take over their jobs we might get more satisfaction in the way this country is being run as at the moment it leaves a lot to be desired. If their jobs were at stake (which many of them should be, and will be at the next election) their reaction would very different, then there would be support for the British worker while bringing a whole new meaning to FOREIGN LABOUR!

bank bonuses

I was disgusted at the recent revelations that the staff at Northern Rock are to receive bonuses ranging from ten percent to twenty percent upwards depending on how high up the rankings they are. As far as I am led to believe the bonuses are for restoring the banks finances to a solvent working level or in other words, PULL THEM OUT OF THE MIRE THEY LANDED US ALL IN by retrieving monies from the most vulnerable of the people they gave to so readily in the first place. Their bonus as far as I am concerned is the fact that they KEPT their jobs in the first place and should think themselves lucky that they are getting the chance to make amends. It was throwing money away willy-nilly that got us in this mess to begin with and as bonuses are for successful results the bankers (I think that's the spelling I mean)are the last people who should be receiving bonuses. If anything some of the money the fat cats have bled out of the system by over inflated bonuses of the past should be returned into the system to help recovery and any thought of new bonuses should be forgotten about until they can prove they are worthy of such a thing, also the disgusting amounts should be adjusted to realistic sums and if they do not like it let them seek a new position elsewhere. NO ONE IS INDISPENSABLE! and more so in these times of rising unemployment.
It is our money they are giving away and the government had no right to agree to this ridiculous settlement in the first place. Another shambolic decision by them.

politicians perks

While on the subject of politics we might as we mention the M.Ps. expenses and other ways they con money out of the public that they are supposed to be representing.
When they buy a house in London with money taken from the tax payer they should furnish it with their own money and not be allowed to fleece us for goods THEY class as unnecessary when it comes to handing out cash. Things like new kitchens and T.Vs.
even wallpaper and the like are for their, benefit for a house they are supposed to only need for the spells that they are in London. If they are doing their job properly by the time they get home they should be ready for bed and have no need for lavish surroundings and just make do with the bare essentials, after all it is only supposed to be temporary accommodation. Once they have no need for the house and it is sold, any money borrowed from the tax payer and any profit made from the sale should be returned to the fund it was taken from. There is absolutely no way these scheming tricksters should profit in any way by using our money to fund these ventures. Just what do they spend their wages on if we pay for their meals and every other scam they can think of. They get an undeserved LARGE pension as it is so there is no need for them to be feathering their nests any further at our expense.
It is our money they are working with so we are entitled to know every detail of its use and they have NO right to deny us OUR rights!
SO BE WARNED POLITICIANS WE ARE ON YOUR CASE!
